A note from John Emery, Owner & Creative Director:

For me, this is a bit of a personal manifesto... As a teaching pastor in my local church, it's been easy to recognize the disconnect between our message and our culture's interests. 

How do we reach an "instant gratification society" (thanks to Amazon Prime and Netflix) with the Good News of God's grace? Especially when following Jesus isn't as easy as clicking a button or flipping a switch? How is it that this message of hope we've been entrusted with is falling flat? 

The Church needs all the help it can get.

I don't have to remind you that over 4000 churches close their doors each year (while only ~1000 open). The lack of resonance between our Churches and our unchurched communities isn't due to lack of effort... Trust me. I know the hours you and your staff work. 

But we'd be foolish not to recognize that there is a disconnect. 

To survive (and even thrive), all of our Churches must:

  • Clarify their messaging and voice

  • Give facelifts to our old logos

  • Update our websites and marketing materials

  • Have a strategy for reaching our communities

The Gospel remains unchanged; but the way we're sharing the Gospel must continually adapt to the people we're trying to reach. Just as international missionaries learn native languages, our Churches need to be speaking with the same clarity and professionalism that today's businesses are.
